Emergency rescue workers are on the ground today, in Chile—one day after a massive 8.8 earthquake rocked the South American nation. The magnitude of yesterday’s earthquake released several Tsunami warnings for most of the pacific coast, including Hawaii.

Chile, situated on the west of South America is known for its large magnitude earthquakes—with 12 of them reaching over 8.5. Yesterday’s 8.8, toppled buildings and bridges, cut off power and communication from the world and sent it’s people to the streets to find moments of peace. The nation faced about 40 after shocks, all topping over 5.0. Residents are trapped in cars that were flung over highway overpasses, burning buildings and collapsed homes.

Emergence workers worked through night with out power, putting the death toll this Sunday morning to 300 dead. Government officials stated yesterday that they expect the toll to triple that of 300. Over 200,000 people live in the city of Concepcion.

President Michelle Bachelet declared a "catastrophe" and said at least 80% of Chile's population of roughly 16 million had been affected.

It's not just only humans helping in Operation Haiti relief anymore, but animals and some pretty huge ons at it. It's called "Jumbo Effort for Haiti".

In Thailand, three elephants are not just looking to collect peanuts from locals and tourist; but money to help the Caribbean island of Haiti. Two weeks ago Haiti was hit my a massive 7.0 earthquake, that destroyed the capital of Port-au-Prince.

This event or unusual idea was a Red Cross fundraiser. Thailand has already ready sent 20 tons of rice and pledged $120,000.

A Divided McCain House

Cindy McCain is the newest "celebrity" to lend her face to the NOH8 campaign.
This campaign started back in 2008 after the state of California ban same sex marriage. McCain's daughter Meghan McCain posed for the campaign last summer and is extremely proud of her mother for taking this stance.
So, is there a divided McCain house? Yes,John McCain strongly opposes same sex marriage. However, in a statement released yesterday by his office: “Senator McCain respects the views of members of his family. The Senator strongly supported the effort to successfully pass Arizona Proposition 102, the Marriage Protection Amendment, and his opposition to gay marriage remains the same. Senator McCain believes the sanctity of marriage is only defined as between one man and one woman.”

Yesterday, Meghan tweeted:"
I couldn't be more proud of my mother for posing for the NOH8 campaign,I think more Republicans need to start taking a stand for and civil rights in this country and set the example that this is not a partisan issue."

Oprah.com is featuring President Bill Clinton's first hand account of his vist to Haiti this week. He is U.S Special Envoy to Haiti and has had Haiti on his mind for almost 40 years.

Clinton:"When I returned to Haiti earlier this week to deliver medical supplies, food and water, I could barely recognize the city of Port-au-Prince, a city I have visited and cherished for more than 35 years: buildings and homes leveled; people in the streets, hungry, homeless and hurt; emergency vehicles and workers rushing through the streets to bring aid to the dying; the presidential palace in ruins."
